In the beginning, I didnt fully understand the structure of the platformspecifically the role of "Featured Members." Over time, I noticed that most of the interactions I had were with these Featured profiles. Yes, these profiles often represent highly curated images and personalities, and the cost to interact with them adds up fast.

Communication with Featured Members isn't free, and that was a learning curve I hadn't anticipated. It's important to go in aware of the pricing model: every message, call, or interaction carries a fee.
I did form a connection early on with someone who stood out. We chatted daily for weeks, and during that time, I felt something genuine. Unfortunately, when I asked to move the conversation off-platform, it became clear he wasnt interested in continuing outside of the app.

That was disappointing. But what I took from that experience was valuable: I learned the importance of setting boundaries early, having clear expectations, and not letting emotional hope override practical caution.

yes, with the caveat that you go in informed. Know the costs. Understand the difference between Featured and non-Featured users. Be mindful of your budget.

I first tried Datemyage 2 years ago for the same reason everyone else does. I was ready and wanted a relationship. Creating my account was a breeze, and my well-curated profile was up in less than 2 minutes. Within 5 minutes, I had at least 35 chat requests and emails. I was more than surprised. I think that's when I first noticed the designation on participants' profiles that reads 'Featured Member.' If you are at a loss as to what a Featured Member is or does, that's okay; I also had no idea. It turns out that only good-looking members get the designation of 'Featured Member.' If you perhaps believe that my comment is misguided and based on misandry, I invite you to check. The polarity between the Featured Members and the 'others' is more than obvious. If you thought there was a chance that the guy with the extra weight but beautiful smile and fantastic attitude was going to show up as a 'Featured Member,' think again. All 35 of my chat requests and emails were from 'Featured Members.' Not a single non-Featured. I found that odd. I am an average-looking woman, and only the most handsome Featured members reached out? But guess what, you can talk for free to non-Featured Members. For Featured Members, you have to pay for every single interaction no matter how minuscule you think it is. And by the way, the boys pay NOTHING. The entire expense of this quest for love will be yours, even if you miraculously find it with an actual Featured Member.

Within a couple of days, the candidate pool had started to dry, and one man stood out. He seemed very interested, and I was getting excited and, unfortunately, feeling hopeful. So, to spend $50 for 150 credits buys you 50 texts (160 characters only) and 17 minutes on a two-way video call. How many credits do you think you need when you're doing your part so things flourish? And you're the only one paying for calls and texts and 'gifts.' After about a month, I brought up again the fact that I thought it was time to move platforms. I really didn't want to spend like I was, and a couple of days earlier, he had agreed. He kept making excuses and asking me for more time, and I did capitulate for a couple of days while bleeding money I didn't have because in my idiocy and loneliness I had let him convince me that we were on a great path and things were moving forward. When I put my foot down and finally told him I was quitting the site, he didn't even want my number. He had said everything he had to say to make me have hope and lower my defenses. And I ended up losing a lot of money to Datemyage. But I couldn't blame the app then. It was a one-off by a bad man, as far as I knew. But again, I got lonely, and I ended up there. Hoping that I would not run into that twisted person who gets pleasure from inflicting pain on others... and I didn't. But the same thing happened, as if orchestrated and rehearsed.

This time I decided to ask the Featured Members their options on the fact that they do not have to pay for the service. I asked all of them if they'd ever actually met and had a relationship with anyone outside of the platform, or why it is that the members classified as Featured can interact with anyone on the site, except opposite sex Featured? Not a single one answered me, and they all quickly disappeared from the screen one by one. I think I now believe that this is a scam behind the façade of a legitimate online dating app. I think Datemyage is taking advantage of the deep loneliness, sadness, and need for connection the world craves at the moment. And that makes them ugly. I forgot to mention that I have looked and tried to find them, but not one of the Featured Members I have looked up had ANY social presence.

Overall, I had fun; it's just that I lost my job and can't afford it anymore. Priorities!

This is a solid and well-designed app with a lot of great features. I found the interface easy to navigate, and the community seemed genuine and active. The matching system works well, and I appreciated the ability to connect with people from different parts of the world. It's clear that the app puts effort into providing a quality experience for mature singles.

Unfortunately, I've decided to delete my profile because it's currently not affordable for me. That said, if budget weren't a concern, I'd definitely keep using it. I did follow all the necessary steps in the settings to delete my profile, and the process seemed straightforward.

However, the app mentioned I would receive a confirmation email, which I never got. That part was a bit confusing, and I hope it gets addressed for smoother account management.

I was scared to try, but since my divorce, I am so sad, and my friend recommended me this website where she found her other half. Of course, I checked it first because I don't want to be taken advantage of, but I am glad that my worries didn't let me stop.
